Don't open new windows in parametric search, but open new tabs
With the evolution of new browsers, I think is better to open new tabs instead of opening new windows, i.e. when selected Parametric Search

Update: we will use the suggestions to offer parametric search as part of the tabbed structure in our new website. This will be build in a next parametric search release.
Thanks for all the great contributions.
Update: we allow opening the parametric search in a new tab for the parametric ‘text links’.
We tested some of your suggestions and encountered usability limitations (technically what browsers support) that we don’t see as a real improvement for our users.
Furthermore we’ve decided to plan for a dedicated parametric search release in which we further integrate it in the website.
Update: We open a new window to maintain your browser history. However, we are working on a solution to allow you to force it in a new browser tab.

Don't group products by market
Example: MOSFETs are grouped into automotive and standard. Engineers do not care what a semiconductor was meant for, they just want to see them all in one big table.
If a BUK661 is used on a medical device or on an aircraft instead of riding in a car I think it will emotionally survive :-)

We already intend to do this by offering our products by function. We will look into this ‘all MOSFET’ page for sure.

Only show the basic type numbers and NOT all the package version
Look for example at:
http://www.beta.nxp.com/products/interface_and_connectivity/i2c/i2c_temperature_voltage_monitors/#productsThere you find over 15 time the SA56004, but only difference is the pacakge. In this table, for me, this is redunant information, as I only want to make a basic selection at this moment. The many version make me loosing the helicopter view of the different prodocts

Product tab should always be visible
For example when clicking "bipolar transistors". There should be a way to immediately see all of them. Categorizing by markets or types is not helpful.
Also, start with transistors and not already split into low VCEsat and "regular" ones. Engineers prefer to see it all together and then select, not the other way around.
Some praise: The beta site is a heck of a lot faster than the rather sluggish regular NXP site.
But as someone already suggested, don't use Java or anthing fancy. Engineers don't need fluff :-)

Update: Thanks for the compliments. We’ll take it into consideration but this will mean long lists of products that are in some cases difficult to compare.

real marking of the product
Please show the real marking of the product not the silly statement "standard marking" - what ever this is

Search on SMD component print
I would like a search option on component print of SMD devices, especially the smaller ones, so that you can find out from the cryptic printing what device you're looking at. If this is allready possible, please tell me how.

Information about Linux for Arm Products
I would like to see more information about the linux and other software for the microcontrollers. Like a new area on the site where I can find compilers , linux kernels , tutorials, how to's, etc .
Who needs a microcontroller want to know about the available software and compilers. No use having a microcontroller if I do not know how to compile code for it. It is also important to know if there is any linux ported to the chip.6 votesplanned ·

Please display all display drivers on a product page
Please display all display drivers on a product page. The page is already existing,

but not shown on the "products by function" panel

Parametric search not complete
If you do a parametric search for LPC175x/6x/7x/8x, the SPI , I2C and Vcc fields are empty. It might give the wrong impression that these peripherals are not supported.

Parametric tables very slow
Your web developers should try the site in Australia. The issue is not bandwidth but latency. Pages making multiple requests are slow at overseas locations.

A link to product described just like wikipedia
For instance, consider the text " Various UBA2024 CFL driver package". I feel its better to add a link under the word "UBA2024" directed to that particular IC's page.

Show all items in parametric search

This category contains 31 product items, but only 9 of them are shown in Parametric Search.3 votesunder review ·

Parametric page - extend selected item functions
The check-box to the right of the part number currently only allows for manual filtering.
I think it would be useful to allow for other group operations such as: Open all selected, download all selected datasheets, etc.

Parametric page layout - heading & left tab should be fixed when scrolling
The heading row and left hand column should be fixed, so when the window size is smaller than the parametric table, scrolling down or to the right leaves these two display items on screen (akin to freezing panes in excel when working with large tables.
This could be extended to user selectable content in the frozen sections (search criteria, selected columns or selected rows, etc).

Predictive Searching
I like that the Type Search box offers a list of matching items but if I type in 'L' it offers me the first 5 "LM" items. Maybe it should offer me the list of next valid letters. For example "LM", "LP" etc.

Support RSS feeds for search or opensearch?
A search query could be saved as My Search or published as RSS feed (giving new results via RSS). Also search via opensearch could help making search query results published on other websites.

ORCAD symbols for LPC1788
Hi!
It would be great to make ORCAD symbols for LPC177x/8x available.
I expected it to be in this ZIP (http://ics.nxp.com/support/documents/microcontrollers/zip/orcad.symbols.lpc17xx.zip), but LPC1751-8 and LPC1764-8 are available.

Thank you for your interest in OrCAD symbols for the LPC1788. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have them available. They are planned for the future, but no date is set. Valuable input like yours is important to us to help us prioritize the development of these files, so your suggestion is greatly appreciated
