NXP Semiconductors feedback
We have redesigned our website to make it easier for you to get access to our products, applications and support. Let us know what you think by leaving your feedback on this forum or sent us an email directly at beta.feedback@nxp.com.
NXP specific or confidential feedback will be moved to the NXP Private forum. If you have an NXP email address you have access to this forum and you are able to see the link in the right hand column.
Please note that you need to confirm your NXP email address to be able to see this forum.

Don't group products by market
Example: MOSFETs are grouped into automotive and standard. Engineers do not care what a semiconductor was meant for, they just want to see them all in one big table.
If a BUK661 is used on a medical device or on an aircraft instead of riding in a car I think it will emotionally survive :-)
33 votesWe already intend to do this by offering our products by function. We will look into this ‘all MOSFET’ page for sure.

Search on SMD component print
I would like a search option on component print of SMD devices, especially the smaller ones, so that you can find out from the cryptic printing what device you're looking at. If this is allready possible, please tell me how.

Product tab should always be visible
For example when clicking "bipolar transistors". There should be a way to immediately see all of them. Categorizing by markets or types is not helpful.
Also, start with transistors and not already split into low VCEsat and "regular" ones. Engineers prefer to see it all together and then select, not the other way around.
Some praise: The beta site is a heck of a lot faster than the rather sluggish regular NXP site.
But as someone already suggested, don't use Java or anthing fancy. Engineers don't need fluff :-)
12 votesUpdate: Thanks for the compliments. We’ll take it into consideration but this will mean long lists of products that are in some cases difficult to compare.

Parametric search not complete
If you do a parametric search for LPC175x/6x/7x/8x, the SPI , I2C and Vcc fields are empty. It might give the wrong impression that these peripherals are not supported.
11 votesWe’ll look into this. Thanks for flagging.

real marking of the product
Please show the real marking of the product not the silly statement "standard marking" - what ever this is

Reference design listing
List of reference designs available for the particular product/products to be displayed under Reference Designs
10 votesUpdate: We will offer reference designs as part of the technical support portal section in a future release.

Information about Linux for Arm Products
I would like to see more information about the linux and other software for the microcontrollers. Like a new area on the site where I can find compilers , linux kernels , tutorials, how to's, etc .
Who needs a microcontroller want to know about the available software and compilers. No use having a microcontroller if I do not know how to compile code for it. It is also important to know if there is any linux ported to the chip.9 votesUpdate: This information will be published when the support section goes live.

This information will published as well. -
ORCAD symbols for LPC1788
Hi!
It would be great to make ORCAD symbols for LPC177x/8x available.
I expected it to be in this ZIP (http://ics.nxp.com/support/documents/microcontrollers/zip/orcad.symbols.lpc17xx.zip), but LPC1751-8 and LPC1764-8 are available.
6 votesThank you for your interest in OrCAD symbols for the LPC1788. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have them available. They are planned for the future, but no date is set. Valuable input like yours is important to us to help us prioritize the development of these files, so your suggestion is greatly appreciated

Parametric tables very slow
Your web developers should try the site in Australia. The issue is not bandwidth but latency. Pages making multiple requests are slow at overseas locations.
4 votesUpdate: The parametric search will be improved in a later phase (including its performance).

Block diagram is not very clear for mechanical implementation
I was looking at "automatic transmission application" but could not get enough info to apply for my application (non automotive but industrial machine transmission). This one seems to have a need for some rework. Please feel free to apply a real demonstrator (maybe a kit type). I am looking for some sensors to locate the gear wheel positions and turning speeds, control of a cludge and servos to setup next gear. Controlled by a small MCU that provides display and buttons as well as a wired or wireless remote access to the main machine control unit.

Where is the lpcxpresso ? Put such valuable tools at an eye catching place please.
Where is the lpcxpresso ? Put such valuable tools at an eye catching place please. I had found it accidentally at pre.site but i couldn't find a track abut it at this site. Eventually this site is much more organized.
3 votesAll LPC tooling will definitely be integrated in the new site.

Could you explain a bit more please? Do you mean the current Parametric search should be simplified? -
Beta Parametric Search Feedback
Per email requesting feedback, I tried the beta parametric search (on the LPC4300 link). It seems similar to other site's parametric search, which are frustrating to me-- requring lots of scrolling, retrying filtering, moving around, etc. Information is exploded with low screen space efficiency. Here are some annoying issues: First look at the percentage of screen space that is blank or reserved area. The qualification parts have empty content and obscure parts with data. There are columns (e.g. Vdd) with the same value, so can be removed. Use vertical lettering in column headings so # UART is 1 digit wide.…
3 votesHi,
Thank you for the honest review. We’ll work with the requirements in a future release. For more information on the parametric search please click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=DiarabJGEGU#!

Where do I find the NXP libraries for schematics entry and layout tools?
Hi, for my schematic entry and layout tool I would need a library of the parts you offer (microcontroller and others) in all the packages to be able to do the ERC. Where do I find these? I am using PADS-PCB, Eagle and Cadence.

A link to product described just like wikipedia
For instance, consider the text " Various UBA2024 CFL driver package". I feel its better to add a link under the word "UBA2024" directed to that particular IC's page.
3 votesUpdate: After the launch we will implement this to every new page we create and start working on existing pages. Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are currently looking into the impact to do this. -
Parametric page - extend selected item functions
The check-box to the right of the part number currently only allows for manual filtering.
I think it would be useful to allow for other group operations such as: Open all selected, download all selected datasheets, etc.
3 votesThanks for the good suggestions. We will pick this up in one of the future releases.

Parametric page layout - heading & left tab should be fixed when scrolling
The heading row and left hand column should be fixed, so when the window size is smaller than the parametric table, scrolling down or to the right leaves these two display items on screen (akin to freezing panes in excel when working with large tables.
This could be extended to user selectable content in the frozen sections (search criteria, selected columns or selected rows, etc).
3 votesUpdate: The parametric search will be improved in a later phase (including improved interaction design).

Predictive Searching
I like that the Type Search box offers a list of matching items but if I type in 'L' it offers me the first 5 "LM" items. Maybe it should offer me the list of next valid letters. For example "LM", "LP" etc.
3 votesThank you for your suggestion. This is a very good suggestion, we will look into the possibilities to do this.
